VeriPlate provides assist to U.S. Marshals Service
Feb 25th, 2009
In his own words ... Palm Beach Shores Police Department Captain Steve Kniffin
On Wednesday, February 18th, 2009 we received a visit from the U.S. Marshals Service who were looking for a federal fugitive. We had the name and where the suspect used to work (outside our jurisdiction) but not much else to work with. When asked by Dispatcher Whelan if they had a vehicle or tag for the suspect, the Marshals advised they had a Nebraska tag.
The tag was run through the Veri Plate back office and found to have entered and exited Palm Beach Shores numerous times. With a color photo of the vehicle taken as it passed through the camera in the daytime, Officer Strine left the station and within 10 minutes located the vehicle at a local motel.
The suspect was found to be employed at this motel and it was further learned that she resided in Town. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
