NDI-RS is a leading provider of ALPR to a growing number of law enforcement agencies in the United States and around the world. The high accuracy of the Talon ALPR system makes NDI-RS the first choice for those customers who require a high performance ALPR capability on multi-lane roads, whether via mobile, fixed site or portable installations.
NDI-RS (formerly Appian Technology Plc) first established its reputation in the United Kingdom. It is the only ALPR supplier to all 43 police forces in England and Wales through the Spectrum project. Talon is also the chosen system in six UK port installations, major airports, the Docklands, motorways, CCTV systems, in various police mobile and transportable configurations and in the city of London, Manchester, Bristol Rings of Steel. The Ring-of-Steel is independently tested on a regular basis and must maintain performance levels in excess of 95%.
Talon ALPR Engine applications: sophisticated, user-friendly software, for fixed, mobile and portable ALPR
NDI Recognition Systems has extensive experience and knowledge within law enforcement agencies. All ALPR products were jointly designed with law enforcement to provide functionalities and specifications needed for efficient ALPR usage.
Talon application software allows local and national databases to be interrogated based on the plate read for detection and identification of stolen and wanted vehicles.
When an entry is stored to the database, an image of the plate from the recognition camera is stored with the recognition. The system can be configured to show an additional larger image to enable the operator to verify the color and vehicle type.
Hotlists
Different types of hotlists can be used, namely:
- Local Hotlists
- Hotlists of up to 50,000 entries can be created, edited and imported.
- Bulk-loaded Hotlists
- Large hotlists of more than 50,000 entries can be imported.
Talon can also be connected to a remote hotlist database and perform live checks for each plate against the remote database.
VISCE Back Office Facility (BOF)
VISCE Back Office Software is a stand alone database application designed specifically to interface to law enforcement mobile software. The software provides an interface with federal and state crime information computers via third party hardware and software.
