NDI-RS training always follows a Training Needs Analysis to ensure that the training given matches the customers requirement and expectation.

NDI Recognition Systems offers training to fulfill the needs of the Law Enforcement Community, Military, Government, Commercial and the Private Sector. It provides this training for areas as diverse as National Security - particularly ports / borders and key strategic ANPR sites, covert operations, securing conference / hotel sites, waste disposal / weighbridge integration and securing car parks. Training is offered either at the NDI-RS training in Maidenhead, Berkshire or at any other mutually agreeable suitable location. Courses are delivered by instructors whose experience is derived directly from successful operational experience such as ex-police Officers or Military personnel. Where appropriate, training can also be delivered via e-learning modules.

Where there is a requirement to link the NDI-RS training to other training modules such as the ACPO ANPR Training Package for UK Police staff, or to customer's own policies and procedures, these can be addressed as part of NDI-RS's 'training need analysis' when completed.

Course pre-requisites

For most End User courses the minimum requirement is a basic knowledge of a Windows Operating System. For application administration, some knowledge of Windows Explorer and file functions is required. For engineering courses a qualified engineer with electrical skills in an IT or CCTV based environment are preferable.

E-learning

Where considered suitable, e-learning packages have been prepared. These are available on a scale from individual users, to corporate organisational licences, and are fully LMS / Scorm compliant using the Adobe Connect product.

Evaluation, Feedback and Accreditation

As an ISO 9001:2008 approved company, NDI-RS allows each student the opportunity to comment on the training received, and suggestions from these reviews form part of the ongoing review of the training product and methodology. For example, e-learning was implemented directly as a result of a customer request. Negotiations are ongoing for the course completion certificate to be replaced, where conditions are appropriate, with a formally recognised accreditation from a National UK awarding body approved by the DfES.

Consultancy Services

In addition to training, NDI-RS is also able to support the implementation of ANPR / ALPR schemes, addressing areas such as organisational change impact, development of high level strategies, technology infra-structure needs, budget preparation, project planning, ANPR / ALPR business process development, intelligence links and tactical implementation methods.

Other specialist technical support from other company areas of expertise is also available.

Bespoke Courses

Occasionally a training needs analysis will identify that non-standard modules are required. Bespoke needs can be addressed where customers needs require these.

Courses in Support of Products for Equipment Operators

Talon SP for Restricted Users
This is a 3 hour course designed to allow a basic ANPR / ALPR operation with no requirement for higher level administrative or hotlist database uploading. Also available as an e-learning package.
Talon SP in-car/vehicle for Restricted Users
Normally delivered as a part classroom based and part vehicle based to a group of 3 operators in 2.5 hours, flexibility allows other methods to suit customer needs. If done inside a vehicle then the tactical use of cameras will be shown. Also available as an E-Learning Package, though users need to receive tactical camera training locally, usually from trained trainers (see below for training trainers option). Where ANPR / ALPR is fitted in a vehicle as part of a multi tasking option with other mobile data needs, then this to can be addressed dependant on the customers needs.
Talon Spectrum Van Training
This is a two day course for two people that trains Spectrum Van operators in all aspects of the operation of systems and deployment of equipment. A significant part of the second day is spent on 'live' deployments. This course adapts to the level of administrative involvement each customer expects of their operators, and also to basic fault finding.
Talon Access Control Gatehouse
A course aimed specifically at gatehouse security staff and their supervisors, this takes only one hour and up to 6 people can be trained at a time.
Covert in-vehicle ANPR Surveillance Training
Teaches students the fundamentals of deployment of specialist vehicles fitted with sensitive equipment. Dependent on the system software and level of administration this course takes either 4 hours of a day or a full day. It addresses the tactical use of the covert camera fits in each option.
Talon Sentinel Covert Surveillance Training
Teaches students the fundamentals of deployment of specialist Talon Sentinel equipment, and dependent on the system hardware supplied and the level of administration, takes either half a day or a full day. It addresses the tactical use of the camera(s) in each option.
Journey Time Analysis
A number of different Journey Time Analysis options are available, and dependant upon the option used the basic users training can be delivered in between 1 and 3 hours, for up to 3 people per session.

Courses for Administrators

Talon SP for Administrators
This is a 1 day course addressing both restricted user functions and basic administration functions. This course is also suitable for those responsible for in-car administrative requirements. This is also being developed as an e-learning package.
Talon Spectrum Van Administrator Training
Where organisations expect a differentiation between spectrum van operators skills, and the higher level administrative skills involved with database input and back office links, then separate training omitting the operational skills can be delivered to 2 people in 1 day.
Talon Access Control Car Park DB Manager and Configuration
Aimed specifically at staff responsible for the maintenance and administration of vehicles accessing through the gatehouse system, this is a 4 hour session with up to 3 people for each available workstation running the application.
Talon Sentinel Covert Surveillance Training
Teaches students both the fundamentals of deployment of specialist Talon Sentinel equipment and administration of the system. Dependent on the equipment supplied and the level of in-field training, this course takes between 1 and 2 days for three people, or if all have individual access to a Sentinel then 6 people may be trained.
Journey Time Analysis
Dependent upon the option implemented, the administrator training can be delivered in between 4 to 8 hours, for up to 3 people per session.

Courses in Support of Products for Engineers

Engineers Product Introduction
Camera Setup Module. Delivers key skills necessary to set and deploy cameras utilising Hyper terminal links, and 3 people can be trained in 4 hours.
Advanced Engineers Training
This specialist course addresses all aspects of engineering skills requirements and can be tailored to be product specific. Each course takes 9 days and will accommodate up to 6 students. Because of the high degree of dependency on a variety of hardware platforms, then this will normally only take place at NDI-RS premises. Where required outside of the UK, subject to agreement, product specific engineering training can be bespoke for international needs.

Courses for Training Trainers

A pre-requisite is that trainers should be experienced operators where practicable. Subject to a full training needs analysis, and input from customers where appropriate for policies/ procedures/ legislative needs, staff can be trained as trainers. The first day is classroom based, and the second day includes a session where actual students are trained by the trainers. Up to six people can be trained in the 2 days.

Bespoke Courses

Occasionally a training needs analysis will identify that non-standard modules are required. Bespoke needs can be addressed where customers needs require.
